With prophetic authority, Bishop Aloysius Kiiza stepped into Tororo and made a bold declaration that echoed across the Bukedi sub-region: “I prophetically, apostolically, and unapologetically declare Tororo will never be the same again!” Drawing parallels to the Kanungu tragedy, where over a thousand lives perished in the infamous Kibwetere inferno, Bishop Kiiza described the spiritual darkness that can grip a land when the church fails to walk in the power of the gospel. “In every generation, in every season, God raises a man to rise and press on in your clan, village, neighbourhood, and season to lift a standard and deliver the land,” he declared.
The Bukedi mission began as a divine summons. Pastors from the region, led by Pastor Sarah, had been attending Annual World Revival Conferences in Kabale, where they heard a voice speak each time Bishop Kiiza mounted the pulpit: “Whatever will change Kanungu is in that man.” After prayer and fasting, they issued a Macedonian call and he answered.
The journey was not without opposition. Midway through the crusade, the car died without warning. Rather than turning back, Bishop Kiiza laid his hands on the vehicle and commanded everything holding the engine back, and the car started. “This gospel must be preached,” he said.
At the crusade grounds, a demonic rain fell, attempting to scatter the congregation. Bishop Kiiza commanded everyone to return — and they did. The power of God moved mightily: he raised 13 people from the dead, including his own two children. A girl possessed by a demonic spirit attempted to attack him, but could not; she struck Pastor Margaret Kiiza instead, leaving a lasting injury. When Bishop Kiiza bound the strongman, the spirit left the girl and entered her father, a witch doctor who had sent the demonic rain, killing him. That same week, four witchdoctors in the region died.
“I speak life to the church in Bukedi and declare: God’s power is real, unstoppable, and available to all who seek Him,” he proclaimed.
